From The Principal

Alvie Primary School is committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all students, staff and members of our community.

It is with great pleasure we warmly welcome you to the Alvie Primary School website. Whether you are already a member of our school community, a family desiring to enrol at Alvie, or simply browsing out of curiosity, I am optimistic the school’s website will assist you in acquiring further information of our delightful school and the opportunities we provide for our students.

The school is located in the picturesque, calming countryside. Although the majority of our students reside within our nearby surroundings, we also accommodate some students who reside further afield and prefer the individualised personal aspects (priding ourselves on knowing each and every child), nurturing a creative/sporting environment and education our smaller school offers.

Our rich educational program encompasses a core focus on English and Mathematics as well as providing an array of experiences. This is complemented via diverse opportunities through our specialist programs; PE, The Arts, Library, Indonesian and Music. Alvie’s Year 3-6 Camp, Prep-Year 2 Nature Play and effective Year 6 Transition, are all programs endeavouring strong participation, connectedness to our school and beyond into secondary schooling years.

At Alvie, our students know we care their needs are being met. We have a strong learning community that values opportunities for all young people to flourish within our innovative and caring environment, and signify a strong commitment to Literacy and Numeracy. Our teaching and learning program is implemented by our highly professional Teachers, Educational Support Staff and our school Chaplaincy.
Our vast, attractive play spaces stimulate curiosity, ingenuity and inquiry, fostering a spirit of discovery and enjoyment of learning.

Our school values – Respect, Responsibility and Grit are supported through a range of programs including School Wide Positive Behaviour Support. We recognise and celebrate our students achieving their best and nourish a positive growth mind-set. At Alvie, we are proud of our strong family partnerships and encourage involvement from parent/carers and community members in our programs. In particular, our community involvement is celebrated and nurtured through our sustainable breakfast club (offered x3 days per week) and whole school community lunches throughout the year.

It is my honour to be a part of the Alvie Primary School team and community. As the Acting Principal and on behalf of our dedicated staff, I would like to extend an invitation to prospective families to contact the school for further information or to participate in a guided personal school tour viewing and gaining further insight of our wonderful students, school and community.

Thank you for considering us as a potential learning journey for your child’s primary education.
